The hardest post to write….

Aimi Bella

It has taken days to get the courage to write this post. I knew it needed to be done, but just couldn’t even think of the words.

On February 9th, after midday, Aimi passed away in her mums arms. No amount or meaning of words describes the loss.

Aimi had been in hospital since just before Christmas (and on and off prior to that) battling a pancreatic psudocyst, which had just got too far out of control. She fought and fought, but it just became too much for her due to complications.

I could list certain things that were not done or taken seriously by medical care, but that’s for another day! We must add though the Nurses, playworkers and health care assistants on Eagle Ward were and have always been outstanding. We knew they loved Aimi and she loved them.

We appreciate all the messages and cards, you really do realise who real friends and family are since things got tough last July. Thank you.

I always said when this website started, that it’s Aimi’s part of the Internet, and that’s what it will stay! Hope 4 Aimi started when she was born, and the Hope for Aimi will continue to give Hope to babies born with ARPKD. We had always wanted to update the blog but Aimi, moving houses and life always kept us busy. We penned down things over time, and one day, I will write and update how things were.

Many people have enquired requesting where to send flowers or donations. It only seems right to start a donation page for these and that Hope 4 Aimi will fund PKD Charity UK. This charity funds research in the UK for ARPKD and offers hope to babies born into this cruel disease.

The PKD UK link on the right of each page will take you to the new justgiving page in Aimi’s memory and we thank you for anything you can give.
